HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) — A 34-year-old Horry County man, Emmanuel Ingram, has been arrested by federal agents after allegedly pointing a handgun at a school bus with children on board.
The incident occurred on May 7 in the area of Scorpio Lane and Crystal Lake Drive near Myrtle Beach. According to a police report, a Horry County Schools bus driver reported that Ingram approached the bus during afternoon drop-offs and pointed a small black handgun at the vehicle.
Witnesses, including students and a bystander, confirmed seeing the weapon. Ingram reportedly boarded the bus, yelled at the driver and students, and initially refused to leave despite the driver’s requests. He eventually exited, allowing the bus to continue its route.
Review of the bus’s onboard video captured a child saying, “He had a gun,” but police noted that the footage did not clearly show a weapon due to poor camera angles.
Ingram was arrested on Wednesday by the U.S. Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force. He faces three counts of pointing and presenting a firearm and interfering with the operation of a school bus. As of now, he remains in custody at J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bond.
Horry County Schools has acknowledged the incident and stated that they are cooperating with law enforcement during the investigation.
