MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — Elijah Millar, 19, was arrested Tuesday on three counts of illegal firearm possession following a protest-related incident in Nashville and a subsequent search of his home.
According to Murfreesboro police spokesperson Larry Flowers, Millar is under a court-ordered conservatorship due to mental health concerns and was “apparently in violation” of its conditions.
Authorities say Millar was previously arrested after allegedly brandishing a handgun at protesters during the “No Kings” demonstration on Saturday in Nashville. The arrest led to further investigation by Murfreesboro Police and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.
On Tuesday, officers searched Millar’s west Murfreesboro residence and collected two computers and bags of evidence. They charged him with illegal possession of a 9mm handgun found during the protest and two additional firearms—a Mossberg 500 shotgun and a Smith & Wesson .38 Special—found in his room during a prior search in April.
Millar is being held without bond at the Rutherford County Jail pending a detention hearing scheduled for July 21.
The case has drawn attention due to Millar’s documented online activity expressing admiration for extremist ideologies, including Nazis and mass shooters.
