BEXAR COUNTY, TX — A 19-year-old man, Elijah Isaac Garza, has been arrested after allegedly firing multiple shots at a woman’s vehicle during a road rage incident, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred Friday when the victim, who was driving home, was reportedly cut off by another vehicle, nearly causing a crash. When she attempted to signal the other driver, officials say Garza pulled alongside her and fired five rounds at her car. Two of the bullets struck the vehicle, but the victim was unharmed.
Using surveillance footage, investigators traced Garza to a residence on Spring Sun Drive. On Tuesday, the Bexar County SWAT team executed an arrest warrant and took Garza into custody without incident.
Inside the home, deputies recovered a Glock .40 caliber handgun and clothing believed to match what Garza wore during the shooting.
According to authorities, Garza admitted to the shooting, stating he fired the gun “out of anger” and wasn’t sure if anyone had been hurt—only that he hit the vehicle.
He now faces the following charges:
Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
Deadly conduct
Unlawful carrying of a weapon
The investigation is ongoing, but officials confirmed that the victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
