EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Jorge Mares Raygoza, 47, has been arrested in El Paso on murder charges following an investigation involving the El Paso Police Department, the FBI, and Mexican authorities. Raygoza is accused of killing Coral Llamas Sifuentes, 45, and then dumping her body across the border in Juárez, Mexico.

Raygoza was booked into the El Paso County Jail Annex on March 29, 2025, where he remains in custody on a $1,250,000 bond, according to a jail log. He was arrested after a cross-border investigation that spanned multiple law enforcement agencies.

According to the El Paso Police, the alleged murder occurred on March 21, 2025, at a home in the 9400 block of Landrey McKee Lane in El Paso’s Lower Valley. This area is near Alicia R. Chacon International School and Del Valle High School.

On March 28, 2025, the FBI notified El Paso homicide detectives about a woman’s body found in Juárez, Mexico. Authorities in Mexico suspected the woman’s death occurred in the United States. The El Paso Police Department quickly responded and arrested Raygoza that same day on murder charges. However, law enforcement has not disclosed further details about what led to the arrest, as the investigation remains ongoing.

Police confirmed that both Raygoza and Sifuentes were residents of El Paso’s Lower Valley, though the specific connection between the two has not been revealed.

The Juárez region has been struggling with escalating violence, with 100 homicides reported in March 2025, marking it the deadliest month of the year so far. Local authorities attribute much of the violence to criminal groups involved in drug and migrant trafficking. Additionally, femicides and disappearances of women have long been a grave issue in Juárez.

In El Paso, authorities reported seven murders in 2025, as of early April, reflecting a rise in violent crime.

The investigation into Sifuentes’ death continues as police work across borders to uncover more details about the circumstances surrounding her tragic demise.
