Eight men have been arrested in Santa Rosa County, Florida, as part of a multi-year drug investigation dubbed “Operation Last Supper.” The men were apprehended between September 17 and September 24 and face a variety of serious charges related to drug trafficking and distribution.
The arrests were the result of a lengthy investigation, which culminated in the seizure of significant amounts of illegal drugs and weapons. Among the substances confiscated were 5.6 kilos of cocaine, 67 grams of fentanyl, 521 grams of methamphetamine, 54 grams of hydrocodone, 10.2 pounds of THC edibles, 7.75 pounds of marijuana, as well as $64,623 in suspected drug proceeds and eight firearms.
The individuals arrested and their charges include:
David “Preacher” Kennedy (41) of Milton: Federal charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute over 500 grams of cocaine and over 50 grams of methamphetamine/cocaine/marijuana.
Roosevelt “Tawn” Jones (52) of Milton: Federal charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute over 500 grams of cocaine and over 50 grams of methamphetamine/cocaine/marijuana.
Kristopher Smith (46) of Milton: Drug possession, trafficking, equipment possession, resisting arrest, and use of a 2-way device to commit felony.
Dexter Causey (40) of Milton: Drug trafficking, conditional release violation.
Michael McQueen (50) of Milton: Distribution of drugs.
Willie Barnes (59) of Milton: Drug possession (two counts), weapon possession by a convicted felon, drugs conspiracy, and use of a 2-way device to commit felony.
Neal Nesbit (58) of Pace: Drug trafficking, use of a 2-way device to commit felony.
Curtis Merlan (43) of Pace: Use of a 2-way device to commit felony, drug possession.
Sheriff Bob Johnson revealed that Kennedy was at the top of the distribution network, with Jones directly beneath him. The investigation took over three years and involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the DEA, FDLE, FBI, and local police departments.
Kennedy is facing 9-11 years in prison if convicted, while Jones, with a more extensive criminal history, faces 21-27 years. The operation marks a significant victory in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in Santa Rosa County.
