The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Jude Okoye, the former manager of P-Square, at the Lagos Special Offences Court, Ikeja, over alleged theft of $1 million and £34,537.

Jude, who is also the elder brother of Nigerian music duo Peter Okoye (Mr. P) and Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), was charged alongside his company, Northside Music Limited, on four counts of theft.

According to the charge marked Ref/99260/2025, the EFCC accused Jude of dishonestly converting $767,544 for personal use. The commission further alleged that between 2016 and 2023, he misappropriated £34,537 paid by Lex Records Limited for music digital distribution and publishing royalties, depriving the complainant of rightful earnings.

The alleged offenses violate Sections 278 and 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

During the court proceedings, EFCC counsel Mohammed Bashir requested a trial date and for the defendant to be remanded in custody. However, Jude’s lead counsel, Clement Onwuenwunor (SAN), applied for bail. The prosecution requested time to file a counter affidavit against the bail application.

Justice Rahman Oshodi ordered Jude Okoye to be remanded at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre pending the hearing of his bail application, which is scheduled for March 6.
