Edwin Ibanez Arrested for String of Lowe’s Thefts in Kissimmee

KISSIMMEE, FL — A 55-year-old man, Edwin Ibanez, has been arrested in connection with a series of retail thefts at the Lowe’s store on Pleasant Hill Road in Kissimmee. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office confirmed his arrest following an investigation into thefts that occurred between March 27 and April 28.

Surveillance footage from the store proved pivotal, capturing Ibanez’s vehicle along with a clear shot of the license plate, helping deputies confirm his identity.

Authorities also discovered that Ibanez was driving with a suspended license and had an active probation violation warrant out of Pinellas County. Acting on a tip received last Wednesday, deputies located him the next day and conducted a felony traffic stop at Old Pleasant Hill Road and Cypress Parkway, arresting him without incident.

After being read his Miranda Rights, Ibanez confessed to all six thefts, admitting that he had stolen merchandise to resell for profit, according to investigators.

While the total value of stolen goods has not yet been disclosed, Ibanez now faces a list of serious charges:

2 counts of Grand Theft

4 counts of Petit Theft

6 counts of Dealing in Stolen Property

Driving with a Suspended License

He is currently being held at the Osceola County Jail, with legal proceedings pending.

Law enforcement officials credited surveillance technology and community tips with helping bring the case to a swift resolution. More updates are expected as the case moves forward.
