Edward Lucio, 3 Others Arrested in Santa Fe Robbery Setup

SANTA FE, N.M. – Four people have been arrested after a violent robbery setup in Santa Fe that left a local man assaulted and carjacked.

According to Santa Fe police, the victim was lured to an area near I-25 and St. Francis on Friday morning under the impression he was meeting a woman. Instead, he encountered two men and two women, who allegedly assaulted him and stole his 1995 Geo Metro.

The two male suspects reportedly hit the man with a gun before fleeing in the stolen car. A joint effort by tribal police and Santa Fe County sheriff’s deputies led to the suspects being located near Pojoaque.

Edward Lucio, with prior arrests for drug possession, theft, and burglary

Christopher Varela, previously accused of battery, assault, and child abuse

Consuelo Ortega, with a history of felony shoplifting

Mari Bella Amor Gonzales, also charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
