DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. – Edward Agbo III was arrested Wednesday on multiple drug and weapons charges, including trafficking cocaine and possession of a stolen firearm, according to law enforcement officials.
Authorities said that on Tuesday, near South Center Road and Philadelphia Street, Agbo was found in possession of a clear plastic bag containing a white powder-like substance, suspected to be cocaine. A further search of his vehicle, conducted based on probable cause, revealed an additional white, powdery rock-like substance, also suspected to be cocaine.
During the search, officers also discovered a black pistol, which was later confirmed to be stolen out of Darlington County. As a convicted felon, Agbo was prohibited from possessing firearms.
Agbo has been charged with:
Trafficking cocaine
Possession of a weapon by a convicted felon
Possession of a stolen pistol
Possession of a weapon during a violent crime
He is currently being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing. The investigation remains ongoing.
