ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A 35-year-old man, Edit Manjic, has been arrested in St. Johns County for allegedly scamming his romantic partner out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, Manjic intentionally entered into a relationship with the victim as part of a long-term fraud scheme. From October 2024 to May 2025, he is accused of creating fake business ventures and fabricating financial emergencies to manipulate his partner.

Deputies say these lies led to unauthorized credit card use and direct theft, resulting in “significant financial losses” for the victim. The total loss is reported to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Manjic is facing charges including grand theft and scheming to defraud.

The sheriff’s office has not released further details as the investigation remains ongoing.
