Hampton Faces Serious Felony Charges Following Police Investigation in Eden, NC

Eden, NC – Candace Michelle Hampton, 37, of Eden, North Carolina, was arrested on March 26, 2025, following a comprehensive investigation by the Eden Police Department Special Operations Division. Known by the alias “Cupcake,” Hampton faces multiple serious charges related to drug distribution and firearms.

The charges against Hampton include:

Possession of a Firearm by a Felon (Felony)

Manufacturing, Selling, or Distributing a Controlled Substance within 1,000 Feet of a Park (Felony)

Possession of Cocaine (Felony)

Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Distribute Schedule I Controlled Substance (PWIMSD) (Felony)

Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance (Felony)

Maintain a Dwelling for Selling a Controlled Substance (Felony)

Possession with Intent to Sell or Distribute (PWISD) Marijuana (Felony)

Possession of Marijuana (Misdemeanor)

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor)

Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor)

After her arrest, Hampton was taken to the Rockingham County Magistrate’s Office, where a secure bond of $500,000 was set. She is scheduled to appear in Wentworth District Court on April 4, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

This arrest follows an ongoing investigation by the Eden Police Department aimed at tackling illegal drug activity and gun violence in the area. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information related to this case or similar activities to come forward.
