MIAMI, FL – Miami police have arrested Eddy Santiesteban, 25, in connection with a disturbing child sexual exploitation case. The arrest came after detectives searched his apartment, located directly across from Shenandoah Elementary School, and uncovered a large cache of child sexual abuse material.
Investigators discovered over 100 explicit images and videos involving children—some believed to be as young as one or two years old—on Santiesteban’s Samsung phone and an external hard drive, according to the arrest report.
Some of the videos allegedly depict men abusing young girls, women abusing boys, and minors assaulting each other. The investigation was triggered by cyber tips related to files uploaded via the Kik messaging app, a platform commonly monitored for illegal content distribution.
Santiesteban, who is also known as Eddy Carlos Santiesteban-Perez, was taken into custody around 7 a.m. Wednesday and booked at Miami-Dade County’s Turner Guilford Correctional Center by 9:35 a.m., records show.
He faces 16 felony charges, including:
15 counts of possession of sexual performance by a child
1 count of promoting sexual performance by a child
Santiesteban’s bond was set at $23,000. He made his first court appearance on Thursday in Miami-Dade County bond court.
This case remains under active investigation, and additional charges could follow as forensic analysis continues.
