ED Arrests Ashok Sharma, Bhaskar Yadav in Fraud Case

Chartered accountants held for laundering scam funds

by Ananya Mehta

The Enforcement Directorate has arrested two chartered accountants for their alleged involvement in a fraud case in which victims were persuaded to transfer money through fake investment opportunities, part-time job schemes, and other bogus offers.

The accused, Ashok Kumar Sharma and Bhaskar Yadav, are suspected of being part of a syndicate that helped launder the proceeds of the fraud.

According to investigators, the accused allegedly played a key role in facilitating the movement and concealment of funds obtained from unsuspecting victims. The fraud network reportedly targeted individuals by promising lucrative investment returns and flexible part-time job opportunities, convincing them to transfer money through various channels.

Officials believe that the chartered accountants assisted the syndicate in managing and routing the illegally obtained funds in order to disguise their origin.

The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation by the Enforcement Directorate into the broader financial fraud and money laundering network. Authorities are continuing their probe to identify other individuals and entities linked to the operation.
