Authorities have made a second arrest in connection with the ambush and robbery at the Coconut Palm Club Apartments. Ebony Nicole Pitters, 42, of Lauderhill, was arrested and now faces multiple felony charges, including robbery with a weapon, burglary, false imprisonment, and aggravated assault.
Police records reveal that the crime, initially linked to Sacaya Kyana Louis, 20, of Coral Springs, involved a heated phone argument between the victim and her ex-boyfriend. Pitters and Louis, who were secretly listening in on the conversation, allegedly began planning an attack. During the call, Pitters was overheard saying, “Oh, so the setup is supposed to be at your house,” which raised suspicion from the victim.
Later that day, the victim drove to the Coconut Palm Club Apartments to meet her ex-boyfriend, unaware that Pitters and Louis were waiting for her. After confronting her ex-boyfriend about the alleged setup, the victim was attacked with a knife as she walked back to her car and was then beaten inside an apartment where she sought refuge.
Following an investigation, Pitters was arrested and charged for her role in the ambush and robbery. Louis, previously arrested for her involvement, faces similar charges. The Coconut Creek Police Department continues to investigate the case.
