Dwayne Maxie Arrested for Manslaughter in White Bear First Nation Death

Maxie and Jeremy Whitebear linked to Talon Lonethunder's death

Dwayne Maxie, a 26-year-old man, has been arrested by the Regina Police Service (RPS) in connection with the death of Talon Lonethunder, a 33-year-old man on White Bear First Nation. The arrest took place on December 12, 2024, and Maxie is now facing a manslaughter charge following the tragic incident that occurred on December 3.

Maxie, along with Jeremy Whitebear, who was arrested on a second-degree murder charge on December 7, was sought by authorities after Lonethunder was found dead on White Bear First Nation, located approximately 40 kilometers northeast of Estevan.

Maxie remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on December 16. Whitebear appeared in court on December 9, where the murder charge was addressed. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Lonethunder’s death.
