DECATUR, Ala. — On July 15, the Decatur Police Department executed a search warrant at a home on 5th Avenue SW, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals after an extended investigation.
The DPD SWAT Team, along with other officers, found methamphetamine, crack cocaine, synthetic marijuana, prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia, and multiple firearms during the search.
Dwain Turner Jr. was arrested on multiple charges including two counts of distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, tampering with physical evidence, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently held on a $31,900 bond.
Seven others were arrested on lesser charges such as tampering with physical evidence, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of prescription drugs, promoting prison contraband, and loitering in a drug house.
The Decatur Police Department stated that additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
