Police arrested two drug peddlers in separate incidents last night in Phagwara, recovering a total of 105 intoxicating tablets from their possession.
The first arrest involved Dushyant, a resident of Ghurrka village near Goraya, who was caught with 55 intoxicating tablets at a check-point in the Phagwara sub-division. The second arrest was made when Mandur, a migrant from Maharashtra currently residing near Miherru village, was found with 50 tablets at another check-point.
The police have registered two separate cases against the accused under relevant drug laws. Investigations are ongoing as the authorities continue their crackdown on drug trafficking in the area.
