Duluth Assistant Superintendent Anthony Bonds Arrested for DWI
Anthony Bonds, Assistant Superintendent of Duluth Public Schools, was arrested early Tuesday morning by the Minnesota State Patrol on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
According to jail records, Bonds was booked for a 4th-degree DWI around 1:15 a.m. and released by 3 a.m. This marks his first offense, the school district confirmed.
Bonds has served in his current role since July 2020, according to the district’s website.
In a statement provided to WDIO, the Duluth School District acknowledged the arrest and emphasized its commitment to transparency:
“Late Monday night/early Tuesday morning, the Duluth Public Schools Assistant Superintendent Anthony Bonds was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), a first-time offense.
This matter is being addressed through the appropriate legal channels, and the district remains committed to transparency that is consistent with the law to ensure the community is updated and informed on the situation.
During this time, the district remains focused on supporting students, staff, and families to ensure a strong and successful return to learning for the 2025-26 school year.”
No further disciplinary actions have been announced as of now. The incident remains under legal review.
