The Prakasam district police have arrested Dudekula Hussain, a tractor driver from Mrityunjayapuram village in Palnadu district, for his involvement in a series of farm machinery thefts across the region.
The investigation began after a theft case involving a tractor and rotavator was filed at the Pullalacheruvu police station on May 13. Acting on the directives of Superintendent of Police AR Damodar and under the guidance of Markapur DSP U Nagaraju, a team comprising Yerragondapalem Circle Inspector Ch Prabhakara Rao, Pullalacheruvu SI L Sampat Kumar, and other officers was formed.
Hussain was arrested on May 16, and during interrogation, he admitted to multiple thefts. He also led police to the location where the stolen items were hidden. The recovered items include:
A Massey Ferguson 241 DI tractor and Shakthiman rotavator
A water tanker from Tripurantakam
A tractor trolley
Another tractor trolley with a rotavator
The total value of the recovered machinery is estimated at Rs14.6 lakh.
SP Damodar praised the swift action and dedication of the investigating officers, especially the efforts of DSP Nagaraju and the Yerragondapalem and Pullalacheruvu police teams.
