RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) – A major drug sweep took place in Russellville on March 24-25, resulting in the arrest of four individuals. The operation involved agents from the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, and the Russellville Police Department.
The following individuals were arrested during the round-up:
Mark Matthews of Russellville was indicted on March 21 and faces several charges, including:
Three counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine, less than 4 grams) – second or greater offense
Three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia
Two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school
Persistent felony offender charges
Marilyn F. Posey of Russellville was also arrested following an indictment, facing the following charges:
One count of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine, first offense)
Two counts of complicity to first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school
One count of complicity to trafficking in less than 4 grams of cocaine
Chasity Browning, also from Russellville, was arrested on March 21 and charged with:
First-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first offense)
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Terry Price of Auburn was arrested and faces the following charges:
Three counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, greater than 2 grams)
Three counts of first-degree possession of drug paraphernalia
Persistent felony offender charges
The arrests are part of ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to curb drug trafficking and related crimes in the region.
