In a major breakthrough, officers from the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), Madhya Pradesh unit, have arrested Sudeep Kumar, a key mastermind behind a large-scale drug trafficking network, after a dramatic chase that ended at Patna Junction railway station.
The arrest is tied to an earlier seizure of a massive cache of narcotics, including:
68,200 Tramadol tablets
59,000 other psychotropic tablets
52,542 bottles of Codeine-based cough syrup
And other banned substances
Operation in Bihar: Chase Across Train & Highway
Acting on specific intelligence that Sudeep Kumar was hiding in Gaya, Bihar, a special CBN team from Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, was dispatched to capture him.
However, once the accused got wind of the operation, he boarded a local train bound for Patna. The CBN team responded with agility, pursuing the train via a parallel highway. Officers maintained constant surveillance, overtaking the train near Nadwan, and deployed a strategy to board it at later stations.
Two officers in plain clothes boarded from separate coaches, blending into the crowd while scanning for the suspect.
As the train reached Patna Junction, CBN officers on the ground intensified surveillance. After a meticulous search in the packed station, they spotted Sudeep Kumar on the overbridge, attempting to exit.
He was swiftly arrested without resistance and taken into custody by the CBN team.
Mastermind Behind Nationwide Drug Distribution
