EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A 21-year-old Evansville man is in jail on murder and domestic battery charges following a fatal shooting during a domestic dispute, according to the Evansville Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to the 5500 block of Carriage Drive after multiple 911 calls reported shots fired. When officers arrived, they found a male victim who was transported to a local hospital but later died from his injuries.

Investigators learned that the suspect, Drasean A. Hogan, had been at the residence and became involved in an argument with his girlfriend. A second woman attempted to intervene, resulting in a physical altercation between her and Hogan.

During the dispute, Hogan pushed his girlfriend’s juvenile child to the ground. The child’s father was contacted to pick the child up, and when he arrived at the residence, Hogan allegedly shot him multiple times before fleeing.

Sgt. Anthony Aussieker said officers spotted Hogan driving erratically while responding to the scene and quickly conducted a traffic stop. Hogan was taken into custody nearby.

“It’s a recurring tragedy. Gun violence is never the answer, especially when children are involved,” Aussieker stated.

Hogan faces the following charges:

Murder

Domestic Violence

Battery of a Victim Less than 14 Years Old
