OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. — Former physician Dr. Oumair Aejaz, 41, has pleaded no contest to 31 felony charges involving sexual misconduct and the exploitation of minors, according to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
The charges against Aejaz include:
2 counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct
3 counts of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct
4 counts of Child Sexually Abusive Commercial Activity
13 counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime
9 counts of Capturing or Distributing Images of an Unclothed Person
Aejaz faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years in prison for the first-degree charges.
Prosecutors say the case began in August 2024, when Aejaz’s wife contacted authorities after discovering secret recordings of herself, their two children, and other female relatives inside their home. Investigators also found videos showing individuals undressing at Goldfish Swim School in Rochester Hills.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities review potential additional offenses that may have occurred in medical facilities in other Michigan counties.
Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald commended the victims’ courage, saying the plea spares them the trauma of testifying in court.
“While we did not and would not offer this abuser any leniency, I’m grateful the plea ensures victims will not have to testify at trial,” McDonald said. “Their bravery, and the good work of law enforcement, made sure Aejaz will never again harm another victim.”
Aejaz is scheduled to be sentenced in December.
