Doug Showah Arrested for Agricultural Theft in Mississippi

Sunflower County Man Charged After Stolen Tractor and Side-by-Side Recovered

by Sophia Bennett

A man from Sunflower County, Doug Showah, was arrested this week following an investigation by the Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau (MALTB) into a stolen tractor. The tractor, valued at $64,000, was stolen from a farm in Washington County.

The investigation began on October 23, 2024, when the MALTB received information about a possible stolen John Deere 3039R tractor. The tractor was later confirmed to have been taken from Washington County. Investigators traced the tractor to Sunflower County, where it was connected to Showah, a resident of Indianola, Mississippi.

On December 17, MALTB investigators executed a search warrant at M & D Aviation, a business owned by Showah. During the search, they recovered a stolen Polaris 1000 side-by-side, valued at $18,300, which had been taken from Ashley County, Arkansas. Showah was arrested and charged with two counts of receiving stolen property.

The investigation remains ongoing. MALTB Director Dean Barnard praised the efforts of the investigators from MALTB, as well as the Sunflower County and Washington County Sheriff’s Offices, for their work in recovering the stolen agricultural assets.
