Panama City Beach, Fla. — The Panama City Beach Police Department (PCBPD) has announced multiple arrests in connection to a double homicide at the Sunnyside Apartments on Panama City Beach Parkway.

Around 5:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting, where they found two women suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Using witness statements, surveillance footage, and investigative work, 26-year-old Milan Prince Michele McKelvey was identified as the primary suspect. McKelvey fled the scene before officers arrived. Authorities said McKelvey had a prior history of domestic violence involving one of the victims. In March 2024, McKelvey had been arrested for domestic violence by strangulation and tampering with a victim. He was released on bond and issued a no-contact order.

The investigation led officers to McKelvey’s stepfather, 46-year-old Marwan Gordon, whose vehicle was tracked to McKelvey’s mother’s home in Montgomery, Alabama. Both McKelvey and his mother, 62-year-old Tangela McKelvey, were apprehended in Montgomery County with the help of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

McKelvey has been charged with two open counts of murder, while his mother faces charges of accessory to capital murder. Panama City Beach Police Chief J.R. Talamantez emphasized the importance of reporting suspicious activities to authorities, particularly when family members are involved in serious crimes.

The investigation remains active and involves multiple law enforcement agencies. Authorities are committed to ensuring that justice is served for the victims and their families.
