Ruston, LA – A 35-year-old man identified as Dontrell Williams was arrested on May 5 for his fifth shoplifting offense in under a month, according to Ruston Police.
Williams, who is listed as homeless in detention records, was charged with theft by shoplifting and criminal trespass after allegedly stealing items from the Walmart on North Service Road. Officers responded to a call around 4:30 p.m. and were told the suspect had left the store and was walking south over the I-20 overpass. He was described as wearing a blue fishing hat and a black leather jacket.
An officer later located Williams on Willow Glen Drive. He was wearing the hat described and was carrying a box containing a leather jacket, a Bluetooth speaker, and a package of socks — all allegedly stolen. When questioned, Williams admitted, “You know where I got them from,” later confirming he took the items from Walmart.
Police say Williams had previously been banned from all Walmart locations due to prior theft offenses. He had been arrested for similar incidents on April 21, April 26, April 29, and May 4.
Williams was booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
