RUSTON, LA — Donnesha Lovett, 31, was arrested on May 11 after she allegedly accepted a grocery delivery valued at $188 that was meant for a neighbor.
Officers were dispatched to Lovett’s South Barnett Springs Road apartment following a complaint from the intended recipient. When officers made contact, Lovett answered the door yelling and using profanity.
According to the officer’s report, Lovett claimed the delivery man brought the groceries inside while she was in the shower and insisted the delivery was the driver’s mistake. She denied having the groceries at first and refused to open the door.
When officers entered the apartment, they found several plastic bags filled with produce and other groceries. Lovett was taken into custody and booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
