Don Nasser was arrested in Nairobi on September 21 and subsequently remanded to Luzira Prison on September 23, facing grave charges of aggravated trafficking of children and defilement of a 16-year-old girl. Nasser, whose full name is Nasser Nduhukire, allegedly collaborated with Promise Gatete to transport the girl from Tagore Apartments at Acacia Mall, holding her captive in the Kito-Kira division for three days. He initially fled to the Democratic Republic of Congo before moving to Nairobi when the allegations came to light.
The 53-year-old socialite has gained notoriety for his extravagant lifestyle, claiming ownership of a Rolls Royce valued at around Shs2 billion and reportedly spending Shs30 million on a single night out. In 2018, he was discovered hiding in a ceiling to evade arrest for an $8 million fake gold scam.
Nasser has a collection of luxury vehicles, including multiple Range Rovers and a Mercedes, most adorned with personalized number plates. He was known to reside in one of the most opulent suites at Speke Apartments and had previously claimed to manage Shine Properties, a real estate company in Uganda and the UAE.
Speculation surrounds Nasser’s wealth, with reports suggesting he has engaged in various scams, including allegedly swindling $5 million from a Dubai businessman. His previous relationships, including one with the widow of the late singer AK47, have also drawn attention.
