CARTER COUNTY, Ky. — A Detroit man was arrested Saturday in Carter County following an ongoing narcotics investigation, according to the Carter County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said information obtained on December 20 led deputies to conduct a search that resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of illegal drugs. Investigators recovered approximately 5.5 pounds of methamphetamine and 28 grams (one ounce) of fentanyl.
As a result of the investigation, Dominique Barron, 35, of Detroit, was taken into custody. He was lodged in the Carter County Detention Center on pending charges of trafficking in a controlled substance.
Officials said the investigation remains active, and additional charges are possible.
As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and Barron is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
