PRICEVILLE, Ala. — A 19-year-old man from Hartselle is facing several serious charges after a high-speed pursuit that reached over 100 mph on Interstate 65 early Sunday morning.
According to Priceville Police, officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop near mile marker 335 around 1:30 a.m. on April 14. The driver, identified as Dominik Fabian Mendoza Ulken, refused to stop and led officers on a dangerous chase southbound on the interstate.
Authorities say the pursuit ended near mile marker 329, where Ulken eventually pulled over on his own.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers allegedly found synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ulken was arrested on the scene and transported to the Morgan County Jail.
He now faces the following charges:
Trafficking Dangerous Drugs
Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Felony Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement
Driving Under the Influence (DUI)
Reckless Driving
Improper Lane Change
A Morgan County Circuit Judge has set Ulken’s bond at $162,600. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
As always, Ulken is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
