Kharghar police have arrested Daulat Shaitan Singh (25), a domestic help accused of stealing gold, silver, diamond jewelry, and cash worth Rs 42.6 lakh from a bungalow in Kharghar. Singh, who worked as a servant at the residence, allegedly fled with the valuables on July 9 after exploiting an opportunity.
Following a complaint, a special detection team led by Assistant Police Commissioner Bhausaheb Dhole and Senior Inspector Ajay Kamble was formed. The team, including PSI Suraj Jadhav and constables Kasar, Khedkar, and More, tracked Singh from his home in Sirohi, Rajasthan.
Despite frequent changes in his location—once even traced to Himachal Pradesh—police finally apprehended Singh in Jalore, Rajasthan. During interrogation, Singh confessed to the theft, leading to the recovery of all stolen items. Singh is now in police custody as the investigation continues.
