A 31-year-old man named Doga Shiva was arrested by Mahankali police on Thursday in connection with a brutal murder committed on May 17 near the JK Furniture shop on SD Road, Secunderabad.
Shiva, a resident of Mahatma Gandhi Nagar in East Maredpally, reportedly attacked the victim with a concrete boulder following a heated altercation. The victim sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot due to excessive bleeding. Efforts are still ongoing to identify the deceased.
Authorities registered a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). CCTV footage helped police trace and arrest Shiva, who has a prior criminal record involving theft and has been previously booked by Tukaramgate and Malkajgiri police.
Investigations into the motive and full circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
