Three individuals, including a woman, have been arrested in connection with the theft of mobile phones from stores in Varthur and Bellandur, Karnataka. Police recovered 39 mobile phones, a camera, a digital watch, and 8 grams of gold, with a total value of Rs 40.5 lakh.
The arrested have been identified as Divas Kami (22), Aron Thapa (28), and Asmita (26), all residents of Balagere. Kami and Thapa hail from Namchi in Sikkim, while Asmita is a native of Nepal. Both Kami and Thapa are habitual offenders with prior arrests.
According to police, Kami and Thapa committed the burglaries and enlisted Asmita to help sell the stolen items. On the night of October 20, the duo stole around 29 mobile phones of various brands, a digital watch, a camera, and Rs 2 lakh from a Croma outlet on Varthur-Gunjur Main Road. The outlet manager filed a complaint with Varthur police, prompting the investigation.
