Naugachia, Bihar — A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Naugachia police arrested two suspects on Wednesday in connection with the armed robbery of a private bank manager that took place on September 8, police sources confirmed.

The arrested accused have been identified as:

Dinesh Kumar

Anil Kumar
Both are residents of Ismailpur village, under the Ismailpur Police Station.

The incident occurred on Nevadas Tola Road, which connects Ismailpur to Naugachia, when three bike-borne criminals, wielding country-made pistols, intercepted the bank manager—also on a two-wheeler—and robbed him of Rs43,000 cash, a mobile phone, and important documents.

After being threatened and robbed, the victim filed a complaint at Ismailpur Police Station, and an FIR was registered under Section 309(6) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Following the robbery, Superintendent of Police Prerna Kumar formed a Special Investigation Team, including:

SHO Dhiraj Kumar (Ismailpur PS)

Amit Kumar, in charge of the Digital Intelligence Unit (DIU)

Other technical and field officers

The SIT used digital forensics, local intelligence, and resident interviews to gather leads. Acting on those inputs, they arrested Dinesh and Anil Kumar from Naugachia, recovering part of the stolen cash and official documents.

According to SDPO Omprakash, both men confessed to the crime and admitted involvement of other gang members still at large. Police are actively pursuing those leads.

Anil Kumar further admitted to his role in another robbery in July 2025, when a bank collection agent was looted of Rs70,000 and a tablet in the Gopalpur PS area under the Naugachia police district.

Authorities confirmed both suspects have prior criminal histories, suggesting the group is part of an organised robbery gang. Interrogation is ongoing to track the rest of the syndicate.
