CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Two men, Dimitri Scott Kelley, 27, and Travaun Christopher Davis, 29, both from Spotsylvania, have been arrested and charged in connection with multiple thefts in Chesterfield County last year. Authorities believe there may be additional victims.

The investigation began after a July 30, 2024 burglary in the 14100 block of Branched Antler Drive, where a dirt bike was stolen from a shed. The bike had been listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

During the investigation, police uncovered a related ATV theft that occurred on September 24, 2024, in the 6800 block of Qualla Road. That ATV was also listed on Facebook Marketplace at the time of its theft.

Chesterfield County Police, collaborating with multiple law enforcement agencies including Spotsylvania, Louisa, New Kent, Prince William counties, and Maryland State Police, conducted extensive searches and investigations.

On May 19, a Chesterfield County Grand Jury indicted Kelley and Davis on multiple counts, including two counts each of grand larceny, conspiracy to commit grand larceny, grand larceny with intent to sell, breaking and entering, and conspiracy to commit breaking and entering.

Kelley was served indictments on May 21 while at Rappahannock Regional Jail, and Davis surrendered on May 30 at Chesterfield County Jail.

Police said the suspects targeted sellers by viewing Facebook Marketplace listings and using publicly available information to locate victims’ addresses for the thefts. The suspects allegedly intended to sell the stolen property for profit.

Chesterfield Police urge residents to be cautious about sharing personal information online and to stay alert when buying or selling items through social media platforms.

Authorities also encourage anyone with information about these cases or potential additional victims to contact the Chesterfield Police Department at 804-748-1251.
