A 29-year-old barman, identified as M Dileep Kumar from Odisha, was arrested by Subramanyanagar police for allegedly robbing Geometry Brewery and Kitchen in the early hours of Monday.
According to police sources, Dileep Kumar stormed into the premises and threatened the night watchman before fleeing with a significant amount of cash. The incident occurred in the wee hours, catching the staff and security off-guard.
A dedicated police team tracked the accused to his hometown in Odisha, where he was taken into custody. Authorities confirmed that Kumar, who had previously worked in Bengaluru, was familiar with the restaurant layout, aiding in the execution of the crime.
Further investigations are underway to determine if Kumar was involved in any other criminal activities in the city.
