Digga D, a prominent figure in the UK drill music scene, has pleaded guilty to two drug-related charges following his arrest during an online performance. The artist, whose real name is Rhys Herbert, appeared via video link at Lincoln Crown Court from HMP Wormwood Scrubs, where he is currently in custody.
The 23-year-old, from Lonsdale Road, Notting Hill, admitted to charges of supplying and importing cannabis. He was arrested near Lincoln on February 21 while streaming on Instagram Live. The prosecution did not accept the basis of his guilty pleas during the hearing, and Judge Simon Hirst adjourned the case until July 8, 2024, to decide if the case will proceed to trial.
In addition to pleading guilty to smuggling cannabis on July 11, 2023, Digga D also acknowledged supplying cannabis between October 26, 2022, and February 21, 2024.
Known for his chart-topping drill tracks that have garnered millions of online views, Digga D is one of the leading performers in the UK’s drill scene. While drill music originated in Chicago in the early 2010s, UK artists have since adopted and evolved the genre, making it a dominant force in the global music landscape.
