Diamond Ellis Arrested for Impersonating Pitt Co. Sergeant

Woman charged with scamming $3,500 from victim

A Brunswick, Georgia woman, Diamond Ellis, 31, was arrested on February 16, 2026, after allegedly scamming a Pitt County woman out of $3,500 by posing as a sheriff’s sergeant.

According to warrants, Ellis contacted the victim in June, claiming to be Sgt. Walker of the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office and threatened arrest unless she provided money. The victim complied, sending $3,500 under duress.

Ellis later turned herself in and was charged with:

Obtaining property by false pretenses

Impersonating a law enforcement officer

She was taken to the Pitt County Detention Center and has posted a $10,000 bond.
