On April 3, 2025, Jammu and Kashmir Police apprehended two individuals and seized 27.77 grams of a heroin-like substance during a naka checking operation in R S Pura, Jammu.
A police team from Police Station R S Pura was conducting routine patrolling when they set up a naka near Public Resort, Chohala. At around 6:30 PM, an Alto car (JK02AH-1456) coming from Chak Aslam attempted to evade the checkpoint.
The police team swiftly intercepted the vehicle and detained the two occupants, identified as Dheeraj Choudhary, son of Janak Raj, and Shubham Kumar, son of Ghara Ram, both residents of Chohala Kothey, Tehsil R S Pura, District Jammu.
Upon searching the vehicle, police recovered 17.10 grams of heroin from Dheeraj Choudhary and 10.67 grams from Shubham Kumar, totaling 27.77 grams.
An FIR has been registered at Police Station R S Pura under relevant sections of the NDPS Act (8/21/22/29/60). Further investigations are ongoing as authorities continue to probe the source of the drugs and any potential connections to larger trafficking networks.
