In a significant crackdown on job fraud, Noonmati Police have arrested Dhan Kumar Deka, founder and Zonal In-Charge of the Railways Mall Godam Shramik Sangha (RMGSS), for allegedly running a fake railway recruitment scheme.

According to police sources, Deka, originally from Morigaon and residing in a rented house in Chachal, Assam, collected Rs 2–3 lakh from each applicant by promising employment in Indian Railways’ goods warehouse segment. The scam reportedly targeted multiple job seekers across the region.

The police investigation revealed that the organization was entirely fictitious and had no affiliation with Indian Railways. Authorities have confirmed that several victims have lodged complaints after realizing the recruitment drive was fraudulent.

The arrest highlights the growing concern of job-related scams in Assam, with police urging applicants to verify recruitment drives through official channels before making any payments. Further investigation is underway to identify additional victims and accomplices involved in the scam.
