Devang Bhadresha Booked for Rs7 Lakh Credit Card Fraud

Ahmedabad woman duped in fake credit score scheme

A case of financial fraud has been registered by the Satellite Police against an Ahmedabad man and his wife, accused of misusing three credit cards entrusted to him by a local woman. Between October 5 and 12, 2024, Devang Rajubhai Bhadresha allegedly withdrew nearly Rs7 lakh using the cards without the cardholder’s consent.

The complaint, filed by 33-year-old Punamben Babubhai Rajput from Ellisbridge, alleges that she handed over her SBI, HDFC, and Axis Bank credit cards to Devang Bhadresha. He had promised to help improve her credit score by conducting legitimate transactions through his credit card swiping service and assured her the cards would be returned shortly.

Instead, Rajput claims Bhadresha made unauthorized withdrawals: ₹1 lakh from her SBI card on October 5, Rs4 lakh from her HDFC card on October 7, and Rs1.99 lakh from her Axis Bank card on October 12. Notably, she reported receiving no OTPs or transaction alerts for these charges.

When confronted, Bhadresha allegedly continued to delay repayment, insisting that the amounts would be settled with the banks. Rajput further alleges that Devang’s wife, Shreya Bhadresha, was fully aware of the misuse and outright refused to return the money, even challenging her to approach the police.

Due to financial hardship and unemployment, Rajput was initially unable to report the incident. However, she has now pursued legal action, resulting in the Satellite Police registering a case of cheating and criminal breach of trust against the couple.

The investigation is currently underway.
