Detroit, MI — A 34-year-old Detroit man, Jazzie Jermale Love, has been charged with first-degree murder and felony firearm charges in connection with the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, Uniqua Sanders, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office announced on Tuesday.
Shooting Incident at Liquor Store Parking Lot
The incident took place on January 16, 2025, around 7:21 p.m. in the 10700 block of West Eight Mile Road. Police arrived at the scene to find 32-year-old Uniqua Sanders inside her vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alleged Argument Escalates to Fatal Shooting
Prosecutors allege that Jazzie Jermale Love and Sanders had an argument inside her vehicle. Love reportedly exited the vehicle and approached the driver’s side before shooting Sanders in the head.
Legal Proceedings and Court Appearance
Love was arraigned on Sunday and remanded to jail. He faces a probable cause conference on January 28, with a preliminary examination scheduled for February 4.
