Desmond Coleman Arrested in Indiana for Columbia Murder
Suspect captured after fatal July 2 shooting on Broad River Road
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Authorities have arrested Desmond Coleman, the man accused in a fatal July 2 shooting in Columbia.
Around 4:00 a.m. that day, deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a shots-fired call at 2624 Broad River Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators later located and towed the vehicle used in the murder from a residence under surveillance in the Chadford Road area.
On Friday, Coleman was apprehended in Indiana by the Evansville Police Department. Details about his extradition or court appearance have not yet been released.
