FARGO (KVRR/KFGO) — A 43-year-old man was arrested in Fargo after a violent shoplifting attempt at a Target store turned into a physical altercation.
On Friday around 3 p.m., Fargo Police responded to a report of a shoplifter with a weapon at the Target on 13th Avenue South. Upon arrival, officers found two men struggling near the store’s entryway.
According to loss prevention staff, Derrick Lambert attempted to leave the store with multiple unpaid items. When employees confronted him, Lambert allegedly rammed them with a shopping cart and began fighting.
One employee sustained bruises, while the other was cut by a pair of scissors Lambert had used earlier to remove security tags from a suitcase. Police arrested Lambert at the scene.
He now faces multiple charges, including robbery, theft, and assault.
