GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) — A Barren County man is behind bars facing theft and drug charges following a traffic stop by Glasgow Police on Monday.
According to a department news release, Officer Micah Janes identified a stolen vehicle on Happy Valley Road and initiated a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Derek Sanders, 43, of Glasgow.
Authorities confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Louisville. During a search of the car, officers found methamphetamine in the center console.
Sanders was arrested and charged with:
Receiving stolen property valued between $1,000 and $10,000
First-degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense – methamphetamine)
He was booked into the Barren County Detention Center. No bond information has been released at this time.
