In a significant move against drug trafficking, Dera Bassi police demolished an illegal structure belonging to alleged drug smuggler Salim Khan on Monday. The structure, built on one bigha of panchayat land in Amlala village, was identified as part of his illegal activities.

Salim Khan, who has been arrested following a raid in Dera Bassi, is facing four cases under the Indian Penal Code and the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act in both Punjab and Haryana. During the recent raid, authorities seized 7 kilograms of cannabis from him.

The demolition was carried out by Dera Bassi Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bikramjit Singh Brar, Zirakpur DSP Jaswinder Singh Gill, and district administration teams, under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Pareek. The action is part of an ongoing crackdown on drug networks in the district.

SSP Deepak Pareek emphasized the importance of public cooperation in these efforts, urging citizens to report any information related to drug smuggling at their nearest police station to aid law enforcement in curbing illegal activities.
