Denny Plummer faces multiple charges following a traffic stop in Lakeland.
A 41-year-old Lakeland man, Denny Plummer, was arrested Wednesday night after giving a false name to a deputy during a traffic stop. Plummer, who has an extensive criminal history, was stopped by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) on North Wabash Avenue in Lakeland around 9:30 p.m. on April 2.
During the stop, Plummer claimed he had no identification and provided a false name. However, the deputy quickly determined his true identity and uncovered an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued by the Florida Department of Corrections due to Plummer’s failure to comply with conditional release.
In addition to the warrant, Plummer was charged with providing a false name to law enforcement and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Polk County Jail. Plummer has a lengthy criminal record, including arrests for robbery, burglary, grand theft, fraud, and drug offenses. He has served eight prison terms since 2004 and was most recently released in November 2024.
