OCALA, Fla. — Dennis Grundy, 40, former executive director of the nonprofit Open Arms Village, was arrested on June 20 for allegedly defrauding the organization of thousands of dollars through unauthorized checks, fraudulent credit card and PayPal transactions, and manipulated financial records.
The Ocala Police Department charged Grundy with one count of grand theft exceeding $100,000 and one count of organized fraud of over $50,000. Investigators revealed that Grundy’s scheme spanned from 2023 to 2025, involving the misuse of nonprofit funds and falsification of financial documents to deceive board members.
Open Arms Village, which offers transitional housing and addiction recovery support to homeless men, has not yet issued a statement regarding the allegations.
Grundy was released on bond from Marion County Jail on June 23.
