Demtreus Vontrail Davis Arrested for Identity Theft in Auburn

Georgia man charged with forging and altering checks in Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. (WTVM) – Demtreus Vontrail Davis, 30, from Conley, Georgia, was arrested on August 20 following multiple felony warrants related to identity theft and property theft, according to the Auburn Police Department.

The investigation began after a victim reported on December 5, 2024, that a mailed check in Auburn was stolen, altered, and fraudulently deposited into an unknown bank account. As the case progressed, Davis was identified as a suspect, and warrants for his arrest were issued.

With assistance from the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Davis was located and taken into custody. He was initially held at Harris County Jail in Georgia before being transferred to Auburn Police custody on August 20, where the warrants were formally executed.

Davis is currently being held at Lee County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
