An 18-year-old Chicago man, Demarco Brown, is facing charges after allegedly carjacking a woman at gunpoint Sunday morning.
The victim, a 55-year-old woman, was targeted in the 6900 block of South Wabash Avenue. Police say Brown stole her vehicle and other belongings at gunpoint. Less than an hour later, at 12:15 p.m., Brown was arrested, and a warrant had been issued in connection with the case.
Brown now faces two felony charges: aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon with a loaded firearm. He is scheduled for a detention hearing at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse on Tuesday.
